Excelsior's Maurice Harrison earlier this evening won the 2014 Decathlon Title at the Annual Boys & Girls Athletics Championships. This marks the first time the Eagles were winning a gold medal at these championships in 12 years. Maurice who had placed second last year, completed the 10 event 2 day grueling contest with a slightly dislocated shoulder, sustained after his massive 49 metre Javelin throw in the penultimate event.With Maurice's win the Eagles moved to 13 points, and unofficially 6th place overall in the boys section. The girls are still on 3 points from yesterday's activities. Tomorrow is the fourth day of Champs and it is hoped that our athletes will continue to make us proud.
